HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A suspect is in custody after allegedly stabbing a pregnant woman after inviting her over to their home in northwest Houston, according to Harris County Constable Precinct 3's Office.

Deputies responded to the Greenwood neighborhood on Thursday and noticed the pregnant woman with injuries to her face and arms.

According to Pct. 3, the woman told deputies that the suspect, whom she knew from church, had invited her to their home at 12323 Dona Lane.

At one point, the woman noticed a knife, and the suspect reached for it, leading to a struggle. The suspect gained control and began stabbing the victim in the face, arms, and hands, Pct. 3 said.

The woman was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

Pct. 3 said there was no history of a relationship between the suspect and the victim.

Investigators confirmed the suspect was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Pct. 3 said the person had been previously arrested in 2025 for another assault on a pregnant woman, but the charge was dismissed.
